They may be hard to find, but golden trout are worth the hike. Stocked in many of the high alpine lakes in the Wind River Mountains, the view alone justifies the climb to get to them.
Here are a few photos from a recent trip into Lake Nelson.

Just caught your Catch Magazine spot. Great article and photography! I clicked on over to your blog here and noticed one of your recent posts, golden trout. Me and some friends just went searching for them in Colorado, where they are supposed to be extinct. Over a 5 day period we hiked around 30 miles, it was nuts but so worth it! Nice to see others that know the beauty of the golden trout!
